a) Information Provided by Your School and You
Your school creates accounts for its teachers and students. The following information is collected during this process:
- Teacher Information: Full name, email address, and phone number.
- Student Information: Full name, phone number, email address, guardian’s name, guardian’s phone number and email, grade level, and sex.
- Academic and Performance Data: As students use the platform, we collect and store information related to their academic performance, including assessments, submitted homework, grades, AI-generated feedback, teacher feedback, and performance analytics.
b) Information We Collect Automatically
When you access the Layli Platform, we automatically collect certain technical information:
- Log and Usage Data: We collect the IP address of every device that connects to our platform, as well as an anonymized log of active times and content interactions (such as viewing revisions and summaries).
- Cookies and Analytics: We use cookies, device IP logging, and other tracking technologies to operate and improve the functionality of our platform. We also collect usage statistics and performance analytics to enhance our service.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To Provide and Improve Our Services: Your data is essential for operating the platform, generating lesson summaries, creating assignments, grading homework, and providing performance analytics. We use this data to maintain and enhance the quality of our services.
- Communication: We use your information to communicate with you through your respective portals on our app and website regarding service-related matters.
- AI-Powered Features: Student submissions and answers are used by our AI partners to provide automated assessments and feedback. Currently, we do not use your personal data to train our own AI models.
- No Marketing: We do not use your personal data for marketing or promotional purposes.
4. How We Share and Disclose Your Information
We are committed to keeping your data secure and private. We do not sell your personal information. We only share data under the following specific circumstances:
- With AI Service Providers: To provide our AI-powered assessment features, we share student answers and submission data with our third-party AI partners, Google (Gemini) and OpenAI.
- With Government Agencies: We may share anonymized and aggregated student and school analytics with relevant government agencies for educational analysis and reporting.
- For Legal Reasons: We may disclose anonymized data if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a legal obligation.
- In Case of a Business Merger: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, user information may be transferred as part of the transaction.
5. Data Security and Retention
a) Security
We implement robust security measures to protect your data, including:
- Encryption: All data is encrypted in transit between your device and our servers. Data stored in the cloud is also encrypted.
- Access Controls: We enforce a “least privilege” access policy, meaning our internal teams can only access the data necessary to perform their job functions.
b) Retention
We retain student personal information for the duration of their high school career (four years) and for one year after their graduation. After this period, we have mechanisms in place to delete personal data while retaining anonymized performance data for service improvement and analytical purposes.

You have rights regarding your personal information.
- Access and Updates: Teachers and students can request updates to their personal data by contacting their school administration through their respective portals. Schools have the ability to manage and update account information.
- Account Deletion: Schools can remove accounts associated with their institution.
- Personal Data Deletion Request: To request the complete deletion of your personal information from our systems, please contact Layli directly by filling out this form.
7. Children’s Privacy
The Layli Platform is designed for high school students aged 14 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 14 without parental consent.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by email and by posting a notice on our website. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
9. Governing Law
